Ink Sudoku
byI haven’t seen anyone talk about this anyway, so maybe I just missed it, but Microsoft has released Microsoft Sudoku for Tablet PC Edition, sorta.
There was supposed to be a program called Inkudoku released at the end of January by another developer. Well that fell through and I gave up hope for an Ink-based Sudoku program until I decided to check the scene again. A quick Google search led me to Robert Burke’s blog, he’s a member of the Developer and Platform Group at Microsoft Ireland. He talks about a demo program for optimizing UMPC applications for touch and ink which just happens to be: Microsoft Sudoku.
Download the sourcecode and pre-compiled binary (i.e. Microsoft Sudoku, the program) from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c0461e1a-bd6a-4b21-a199-d3d4f9d79cf7&DisplayLang=en
After you download and unpack the contents, open up the folder you extracted the contents to and open \bin\Release, then run Sudoku.exe. In fact, you can move the Sudoku program to where ever you want and delete the sourcecode, unless you want to tinker around with it.

May 4th, 2006 at 3:38 pmAnyone know how to get the help to work for this program? Clicking on the ? icon results in message “The help file is missing. Reinstall Sudoku to restore the help file” I’ve looked at the folder where I extracted the files and find no likely help file in it.
May 17th, 2006 at 8:44 pmAfter getting hooked on sudoku this year i thought it about time to move onto something else. Recently i stumbled onto a new grid game called SHENDOKU. Interesting because it can involve 2 or more players. Check it out at http://www.shendoku.com.
