Paperless Challenge Podcast Finale! (Part 4)
byEric Mack and I are back for the finale of our paperless challenge. Hope you enjoyed our journey as much as we did!
This week, we conclude the paperless challenge discussion by answering your questions. In case you missed the previous segments, here are links to part one, two, and three.
Listen in as I discuss my 8-week paperless challenge with my guest, Tablet PC MVP, Tracy Hooten, of The Student Tablet PC blog. This podcast covers the various aspects of the paperless challenge, its inspiration, how we prepared for it, the tools and methodologies used and the lessons we learned. Most important, we answer the many paperless challenge questions posted to our blogs or sent to us by email over the last several months.
Paperless Challenge Discussion topics:
Inspiration and objectives for the paperless challenge
Preparation: hardware & software
Tools and methodologies
Surprising discoveries
Tips, tricks, and best practices
Lessons learned
Recommendations
And most important, answers to your questions
Our podcast ran longer than anticipated so I’ve split the podcast up into segments for your convenience.
Special thanks for Bruce Elgort and his clown friend, Brian Reed for contributing their time and talent to create the new intro and exit themes. Thanks guys!![]()

February 15th, 2006 at 1:59 amOh no! Thanks for the catch, Robert. It’s fixed now on this site at least.
February 15th, 2006 at 2:36 amStill not fixed on Eric’s.
February 15th, 2006 at 8:28 amGood stuff.
Tracy, maybe you and Trev can put up a “Student Tablet PC Podcast” one day.
February 15th, 2006 at 8:52 amGreat job Tracy. And BTW - I do have my own blog… but it’s not anything related to PCs or technology. I work for a large computer services outsourcer so I get all the technology stuff in my face all day (and many nights with being on call 24X7) so I just enjoy reading yours and Eric’s and others experiences and keep my blog to other stuff - mostly practical Christianity, theology, and politics.
I really enjoyed the podcast. Will be anxious to see what Eric has in store next.
February 15th, 2006 at 2:38 pmDon’t you guy’s have a transcript or synopsis of wisdom from your entire podcast series? I tend to find podcasts very slow
February 16th, 2006 at 1:39 amYour links are still broken
Your link to Eric’s blog makes it a subfolder of studenttabletpc.com. Nor do the links to the three earlier segments work (they’re probably relative to Eric’s server?)
Looking forward to catching up on these posts — trying to go paperless myself, too.

An article that appeared in USA Today this week about the disappointing sales of university textbooks in digital form shows how uphill the battle can be for supporters of e-textbooks like Tracy Hooten and Eric Mack (among others). The article recounts …
